Adoption information

For Mauritius :

The adoption is free.

International adoptions :

A participation of 70 euros for International adoptions. This includes:

Basic vaccines
Vaccine against rabies
Microchip (electronic chip)
Spaying / neutering
Documents related to the dogs departure abroad

Not included : Transport cage and air tickets

What you need to know about international adoption

Due to the new restrictions we are no longer able to travel with Flight Buddies (except for a few countries). Adopters will have to come and pick up their dogs directly (see proposal) or use a travel agent who will make the necessary arrangements to have them travel by freight.

The dog must be at least 3 months old at the time of travel.

Conditions for adoption

Respect the well-being of the dog. The dog must be provided with an appropriate diet, care and adequate housing (no tethering or confinement). A visit of your home will be made before the adoption.
Vaccinations will be kept up to date, once a year. He will need to be seen by a veterinarian if needed.
Notify Indie's World within seven days of the pet's death.
Notify Indie's World immediately if the dog is lost and take all necessary measures to find it.
Under no circumstances may the dog change ownership without first notifying Indie's World.
Visits by an Indie's World representative will take place during the first two months and then once a year.
If you have any difficulties with the animal, the association is at your disposal to help you and find a solution.
As soon as the adoption is validated and the 70 euros are received, we will start the process of getting the vaccines and the microchip from the vet. We will then be unable to reimburse the costs of the care if you withdraw.

Once the form is completed, you will receive a confirmation by email and will be contacted by a member of the committee to organize a video conference or a home visit.this meeting will aim to:
- Get to know each other
- Know your motivations
- Adjust on common needs
- Description and exchange on the behavior of the desired dog
Following this meeting, we will confirm the validation of your adoption and will send you the contract to be signed and the amount of 70 Euro must be paid on Indie’s World account.
Once the form has been completed, you will receive confirmation by email and will be contacted by a member of the committee to arrange a video-conference or home visit.The purpose of this meeting will be to:
- Get to know each other
- Find out about your motivations
- Adjust to common needs
- Describe and discuss the desired dog's behavior
Following this meeting, we will confirm the validation of your adoption and send you the contract to be signed and the amount of 70 Euro to be paid into the Indie's World account.

⚠️ Indie's World has the right to refuse an adoption if the conditions are not met. The adopter declares to have read and accepted these conditions. In case of non-compliance with one or more conditions, the dog will be retrieved by Indie's World without delay and a complaint may be filed. ⚠️
